One time, as I was waiting in line at a McDonald’s drive-through, a man walked up to me and asked, “Sir, can I please have five dollars?”
I gave him twenty not because I wanted to, but because I was scared. It’s silly because right after, I went back to ask him how he’s been — out of curiosity. Wiping away tears, he told me the story of his life.
That encounter persuaded me to make this documentary.
Homelessness — a socioeconomic phenomenon, a human tragedy. For many, it’s a story of choice. For others, it’s a story of chance.

Stress and anxiety dissolve when I’m doing photography. Breathing and noticing, thinking and doing. Photography allows me to tap into this inner “flow state.“
So the cliché is true. It’s all about the process.
But questions remain: Who are these people, places, and things that I see? Who am I to be the observer?

Using generative AI, this project illustrates the transfiguration of an artistic idea through different creative processes. Although people fear that AI will take on a life of its own, perhaps it can fulfill what people once could only hope, by actualizing the stories they imagine.
